This is the story of a queer anti-fascist street gang navigating love, trauma, and gender, as they go to war with the white supremacist groups of Los Angeles. Inspired by true events, ripped from the headlines, this is a world that some queers know intimately but have never seen on the big screen. A world of violence, resistance, and criminality.
This is Bash!
Bash! is pure punk rock, DIY energy. It is proudly and unapologetically antifascist, violent, kinky, angry, and authentic. This is not Ru Pauls Frack Race, this is not yuppie gays buying a house with a white picket fence, this is the not the story of relatable victims. These are the true stories of the hard fighting, hard fucking faggots that America is afraid of.
We are so excited to put out this casting call! Below are eight different characters we are auditioning. Preference is given to POC, nonbinary, trans and queer people but all are encouraged to audition. If we don’t cast you in one of the main parts we will be pulling from these auditions to fill other parts so please submit any audition part as an example of your skills if you would like to be involved!
All actors must be LA or Long Beach based or willing to relocate during shooting.

Note: the casting auditions list ages and gender identities for the characters but these are loose details the writer had in mind and not that strict or important. if you are an actor who can bring something exciting to the part, that’s what’s important!

BJ IS THE LEAD ROLE OF BASH! BJ IS A WHITE TRANS WOMAN BETWEEN 20 AND 30. SHE IS TOUGH, SHE IS FEMME, SHE IS A SCHEMER. SHE IS DEFINED BY HER INNER PAIN THAT SHE EXTERNALIZES THROUGH VIOLENT COMPULSIONS.

DYLAN::
Dylan is not the protagonist of Bash!, but in many ways Bash! is her story. Dylan is a teenage transgender woman, a shy and dysphoric girl who’s found family happens to be a group of violent queers. Throughout the movie, we see her evolution from a self-conscious, androgynous mess, to a confident warrior who embraces her femininity.

POPPER IS A TRANSGENDER MAN BETWEEN 20-25. HE IS A MEMBER OF A QUEER STREET GANG. HE IS ARROGANT, UNSERIOUS, AND CRUEL. HE LIKES TO TALK SHIT AND GET UNDER PEOPLE’S SKIN. HE USES HIS POSITION AS A GANG MEMBER TO INFLICT AS MUCH PAIN ON PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE. HE IS IMMATURE. HE IS A SADIST AND A SOCIOPATH. Lana is a secondary character. They are a nonbinary person between 20-30. They are the ‘house witch’, and they are consulted on spiritual matters, and while they are not the leader they are in many ways the most respected member of the group. Lana is a proud character; wise, observant, not quick to laugh or to smile.

STAR::
Star is a secondary character, a nonbinary person between the ages 20-30. They are one of the more “laid back” and less violent members of the group, and can act as a moral compass for the characters. Star is often worried for the safety of other members, and takes a maternal role in the friend group.

MILK::
Milk (30, white, male) is the primary antagonist of Bash! and a complex character. He is a neo-nazi who has spent the majority of his adult life in prison. He is a calm, collected character, manipulative and well spoken. Since his recent release from prison he has found a transgender partner, and been reading and absorbing queer and antifascist theory.
